how to make qeema


 

Qeema is one of those simple yet great recipes to prepare mincemeat curry. And here comes an extremely simple recipe for you:


### Ingredients

 


- **500g of minced meat** (any meat: beef, lamb or chicken)

- **2 tablespoons oil** can be used either vegetable or ghee.

- **1 large onion**, chops (pieces very small).

- **2-3 cloves of garlic**, chop (minced).

- **1-inch piece ginger**, chop (minced).

- **2-3 green chilies**, chop according to your taste.

- **2 medium-sized tomatoes**, chop

- **1 teaspoon cumin seeds**

- **1 teaspoon coriander powder**

Ingredients-

1/2 tsp turmeric powder

 1 tsp red chili powder or to taste

 Salt to taste

 Fresh coriander leaves, chopped for garnish

 1/2 cup water to taste


### Instructions


1. Heat Oil: Take big pan heat oil in it over a medium flame. Now add cumin seeds in this and let them splutter.


2. Sauté Onions: Add chopped onions in this and sauté until they turn brown.


3. **Garlic and Ginger**: Add minced garlic, ginger, and green chilies in it. Add all these and stir-fry for a few minutes till it is aromatic.


4. **Tomatoes**: Add chopped tomatoes. Let them cook till all moisture dries off of tomatoes, and oil starts coming from the mixture .


5. **Adding Spice:** Coriander powder, Turmeric powder, Red chili powder and salt, mix them well to the mixture and lets it cook for some time for letting its spice to blend well.


Add in ground meat to the pan. Add mixture into the meat of the pan by spoon and stir through until the meat turns light brown in color.


7. Simmer: Mix in water. Whisk well and boil it. Cover this and continue at low heat. This should be kept for simmering for almost 15-20 minutes and stirred occasionally. You can cook it open as per your requirement and some moisture will also evaporate.


8. **Garnish and Serve:** It is served garnished with chopped coriander leaves. It can be served hot over naan, roti, or rice.
