How to make Beef Tikka

**Beef tikka**: This is a popular South Asian dish in which beef, marinated with spice, is then grilled or baked. What you should do at home:

### Ingredients:

500g Beef (boneless, cut into cubes)  Use tender cuts like sirloin or tenderloin for best results

Yogurt4 tsp

Lemon juice2 tsp

Ginger-garlic paste2 tsp

Vegetable oil or ghee2 tsp

-1 tsp cumin powder

-1 tsp coriander powder

- **1 tsp garam masala**

- **1 tsp chili powder** (optional, to desired spice level)

- **1/2 tsp turmeric powder**

- **1/2 tsp black pepper**

- **1/2 tsp paprika** for color (optional)

- **1/2 tsp salt** or to taste

- **1 tbsp fresh chopped cilantro** (optional)

- **Skewers** if grilling

### Steps

 Marinate the beef:

Now put into it yogurt, lemon juice, ginger-garlic paste, cumin powder, coriander powder, garam masala, chili powder, turmeric, black pepper, salt, and paprika. Mix it very well. Pour oil or ghee to the marinating mixture

Rub the marinade on to the beef cubes. Cover it, and keep refrigerated overnight or at least for **2-4 hours**. This will help tenderize the meat and infuse flavors.

#### 2. **Prepare to cook:**

If you are using wooden skewers, soak them for 30 minutes beforehand so they do not burn up.

Get your grill, oven or grill pan on the stovetop hot. For those that use the oven, it ought to be set to **220°C (425°F)**.

#### 3. Grill or bake

**Grilling:** Combine beef cubes marinated and space them alternately apart on skewers for equal cooking. Grill at medium-high heat while turning the beef pieces frequently until they turn out burnt and well cooked, 10-12 minutes.

Baking: Brush butter or oil on a tray, and put the beef cubes out on it so that they lie out. Put the casserole in the oven at 425°F for 15-20 minutes while flipping half the time so that it is lightly browned and cooked.

 4. Serve:

Take the beef tikka off from the grill oven and let it rest for a minute when it's cooked. Sprinkle some chopped coriander and squeeze in a good amount of lemon.

Mix naan, roti or rice together with the side of mint chutney or raita to get the right taste
