how to make samosa at home

 



It is quite a simple process through which samosas are relished as one delicious one.

### Ingredients: #### For the Dough: 2 cups all-purpose flour 1/4 cup oil or ghee

1/2 teaspoon salt

Water as and when require #### For the Filling: 2-3 medium potatoes, boiled and mashed 1/2 cup green peas fresh or frozen 1 teaspoon cumin seeds 1 teaspoon mustard seeds 1 teaspoon ginger finely chopped - 2-3 green chilies chopped fine as desired - 1 tsp garam masala - 1/2 tsp turmeric powder - Salt to taste - Chopped coriander leaves for garnish - Oil for frying ### Recipes #### Dough 1. Mix flour with salt together in a bowl. Add oil or ghee to it and knead into the flour till it resembles breadcrumbs. 2. Gradually Add water Add water gradually. Knead dough until it is soft and elastic. Let it rest for about 30 minutes covered with a damp cloth. Stuffing 1. Heat oil in pan for a tbsp, add cumin seeds and mustard seeds ,allow it to splutter. 2. Add ginger and green chilies, sauté for a minute 3. Mix the potatoes, green peas, turmeric, garam masala and salt, mix well and cook for a few minutes till well coated 4. Switch off from heat and let the filling cool. You may even add chopped coriander to give flavor to the thing. ===== Step 3: Samosa Assembly 1. Divide dough into small balls, then flatten the ball into a very thin oval shape. 2. Divide the oval into two semi-circles 3. Fold over one of the semi-circles and roll into a cone-shaped form by adding little water to the edge, which will act as a seal. 4. Fill the cone with potato filling and attach the open edge by pressing it tight. Fry Samosas 1. Heat oil in a deep frying pan over medium heat. Add the samosas one by one gently. Fry them when they are scalding till golden and crispy, but flip them from time to time so that they get cooked evenly. Take them out and place on paper towels END
