how to make chicken karahi

 



Another simple, delicious chicken recipe especially for you: Chicken Karahi.


• Ingredients


- For the chicken:

* 500g Chicken cut into small pieces

4 tbsp oil or ghee

-2 medium onions, thinly sliced

- 2-3 slit green chilies

- 1 tsp ginger-garlic paste

- 2 tomatoes, chopped

1 tsp red chilli powder

- 1 teaspoon of ground turmeric

- 1 tsp ground cumin

Coriander- 1 tsp of powder

Add salt to taste

- Serve garnished with chopped fresh cilantro.

- 1 tsp garam masala


### Practice


Step 1: Fry the Oil

1. Heat oil or ghee in a karahi or deep frying pan at medium flame.


Step 2: Fry the Onions


2 Chop the onions. Fry in a pan till they are golden in color.


Step 3: Add the Ginger-Garlic


3. Add the ginger-garlic paste. Stir-fry for one minute or until fragrant.


· Step 4: Cooking chicken.

 Add the chicken pieces, stir well until they are all white and pale brown, almost 5-7 minutes.


#### Step 5: Season with spices.


5. Add above chopped mixture of tomatoes, green chilies, red chilli powder, turmeric, cumin, coriander and salt and cook till tomatoes get tender and oil starts separating from the mixture. #### Step 6: Simmer 6. Cover this, let simmer over about 15-20 minutes while stirring occasionally, if dries just add a little water. Step 7: Wrapping Up 7. When the chicken is very well cooked, add the garam masala and stir for good 2 to 3 minutes. Serving and Garnishing 8. Garnish it with fresh cilantro. Serve extremely hot over naan or rice. Relish your flavored chicken karahi!
